Paying tolls on the new Loop 49 is simple and easy. Drivers either pay with an electronic toll tag or receive a monthly invoice generated by our new video billing system. Either way, there’s no stopping or slowing down to pay, no waiting in lines, and no searching for change.
Electronic Toll Tags
Drivers on Loop 49 may pay their tolls with any of the following toll tags: TxTag®, the TollTag from the North Texas Tollway Authority, or EZ TAG (Harris County Toll Road Authority). Tolls are deducted automatically from your prepaid toll account when you use the road. It’s important that your license plate and credit card information are kept up to date on your toll account to ensure that you are charged correctly.
Monthly Invoice
No toll tag? No problem. Drivers without a toll tag also are welcome to use Loop 49. There’s no need to prepay or register. Cameras above the toll lanes will record the license plate, and the vehicle owner will receive a monthly bill for toll charges.
The toll rates are one-third more for drivers who do not have an electronic toll tag to offset the costs related to processing the license plate information. Also, a $1 fee is applied to each monthly invoice for non-tag customers.
