How to Pay

The first part of Loop 49 is being constructed in five segments. Segment 1 (SH 155 to US 69) and Segment 2 (US 69 to FM 756) are complete and open to traffic. In March 2009, the Texas Transportation Commission granted approval to use federal stimulus funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to construct Segment 3A (SH 155 to SH 31).

Once complete, these segments of Loop 49 will form a 32-mile loop around the south and west sides of Tyler. As a toll road, Loop 49 will offer drivers a choice of a fast-moving, convenient method of traveling around the city, as well as providing quick access to I-20 for travel to Dallas, Shreveport and points beyond.
